Jamelia Brown is leading incumbent Melvin Lee Willis Jr. for his District 1 Richmond City council seat.

Brown had 50.1 percent of the votes on Wednesday (1,057), soundly winning over Willis (38.05% and 802 votes) and Mark Wassberg (11.81 percent, 249 votes).

Though the Contra Costa County Election Office said 100% of precincts have been counted, the results are still unofficial.

Four of the seven candidates vying for three seats on the Richmond City Council are (L-R) Melvin Willis, Jamelia Brown, Claudia Jimenez and Shawn Dunning.

In District 6, incumbent Claudia Jimenez was ahead of Shawn Dunning 57.99% (2,381 votes) to 42.01% (1,725 votes).
