Johnene Stebbins, a deputy district attorney in Santa Clara County, has been given an interim appointment as a judge in the Santa Clara County Superior Court by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Stebbins has served in the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office since 1998, according to the governor’s office.
Stebbins earned a law degree from the University of California, Davis.
She fills a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Vincent Chiarello. The appointment allows her to immediately assume the position she was otherwise elected to begin in January.
The compensation for the position is $244,727, the governor’s office said.
