The City of Richmond has been awarded a $9,559,482 federal grant to improve its streets, U.S. Rep. John Garamendi, D-Fairfield, and Mayor Eduardo Martinez announced last week.
Improvements will include retrofitting arterial roads and crossings, incorporating traffic calming measures such as lane reductions and adding bicycle and pedestrian improvements, they said.
Martinez said the grant will create safer and more attractive trails for pedestrians and bicyclists along Harbour Way and Ohio Avenue.
