The Vallejo Fire Department is hoping the community can help them solve a suspected arson case that torched a historic home there last week.

Firefighters were called to 721 Alameda Street on Friday just before 6 a.m. When crews arrived, the fire was “fully involved.” No injuries were reported.

Though the cause of the fire is under investigation, the department is looking for any video footage taken before and after the arrival of the Fire Department.

“Such footage may be critical in determining the origin and cause of the fire,” a spokesperson for the department sent out Sunday night.

The Craftsman home, lovingly dubbed the “Swiss Chalet,” was built in 1900 and is in the city’s Heritage District.

Anyone with footage helpful to this case is encouraged to contact the Vallejo Fire Department. You may remain anonymous.
