Jackie Speier, who spent more than three decades as a state legislator and member of Congress, has joined the board of the San Mateo County Transportation Authority.
The panel oversees the administration of sales taxes that support transportation and infrastructure projects across the county.
“The TA plays a vital role in funding and delivering projects that keep San Mateo County moving,” Speier said in a news release.
Speier, who gave up her House seat in 2022, was elected to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors in March.
Her district includes Burlingame, Hillsborough, Millbrae, parts of San Bruno and South San Francisco and San Francisco International Airport.
County Supervisor Noelia Corzo also serves on the Transportation Authority board.
