California Gov. Gavin Newsom has appointed three Superior Court judges for Alameda County and San Francisco County.
Doris Ng and Jonathan Wolff were appointed to serve as judges in Alameda County Superior Court, Newsom’s office said in a statement. Both are Democrats.
Ng, an Alameda County resident, served as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Labor since 2023. She replaces retired judge Gregory Syren.

Wolff, from Contra Costa County, was chief assistant attorney general for the Civil Law Division at the California Attorney General’s Office beginning in 2017. He replaces retired judge Frank Roesch.
Julia Cervantes, meanwhile, has been appointed as a San Francisco Superior Court judge. A San Francisco resident and also a Democrat, Cervantes served as managing attorney at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office since 2023. She replaces Judge Richard Ulmer, who has retired.
According to the governor’s office, the annual salary for each of the newly appointed judge’s positions is $244,727.
