Mountain View residents are being warned about scammers posing as police officers.
Officers have been receiving reports from residents who said they were called by individuals impersonating law enforcement, the Mountain View Police Department said in a statement on social media this week.
Police reminded the public that they will never call residents asking for money or payments over the phone.
“If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and do NOT provide any personal or financial information,” urged police, who said such calls should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission.
