Thousands of LGBTQ+ wine drinkers from around the world will flock to Sonoma County’s world-class wineries and restaurants for this year’s Gay Wine Weekend, which takes place Friday through Sunday, July 19-21.
The annual event happens throughout the county, offering chances for attendees to sip wine with local winemakers, enjoy farm-to-table cuisine and dance in a vineyard under the stars.
The event kicks off on Friday with winemaker dinners across the county and a VIP party at Vintner’s Resort in Santa Rosa.
The following day, Saturday, attendees will visit wineries throughout the region before wrapping up with the popular Twilight T-Dance party at La Crema Estate in Windsor. The event will feature DJ Blacklow, a Los Angeles-based house and dance DJ.
On Sunday, attendees can recover from the prior night’s festivities with a drag brunch and wine auction, followed by a pool party, both at Vintner’s Resort.

Proceeds from the weekend — including the wine auction — benefit Face to Face Sonoma County AIDS Network, a nonprofit with a mission to “end HIV in Sonoma County while supporting the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS.”
And while it’s all a good time for a good cause, Gay Wine Weekend not only brings together wine loving LGBTQ+ community members for a fete, but it also showcases the inclusive nature of Sonoma County’s local LGBTQ+ community.
“Out in the Vineyard’s Gay Wine Weekend is an experiential Wine Country event that brings together lovers of wine and the love that exists within our LGBTQ+ Community,” says Gary Saperstein, founder of Out in the Vineyard. “It’s a weekend filled with delicious wine, excellent food and amazing people where folks create lasting connections with new friends or old family.”
Tickets through Eventbrite are on sale now. More information about Gay Wine Weekend can be found online.
