Four Stockton community centers will be available until Thursday for community members looking for a cool location to beat the 100-plus degree temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday was 104 degrees in Stockton, while Wednesday will reach 102 degrees, and Thursday will be 100 degrees.
Arnold Rue Community Center, Stribley Community Center, Van Buskirk Community Center, and Seifert Community Center will be open as cooling centers during regular business hours that will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Seating will be offered at the locations in an air-conditioned area with water provided for visitors, city staff said.

However, people are encouraged to bring books, games, and electronic devices for entertainment since sports courts and equipment are typically in use for other scheduled activities.
The cooling zone locations include:
- Arnold Rue Community Center — 5758 Lorraine Ave.
- Stribley Community Center — 1760 E. Sonora St.
- Van Buskirk Community Center — 734 Houston Ave.
- Seifert Community Center — 128 W. Benjamin Holt Drive.
