In an effort to have more Levi’s Stadium visitors take public transportation to events, stadium officials announced they will renew their partnership with the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission.
The commission oversees Altamont Corridor Express trains, which will run special service to and from Levi’s for seven regular season home games for the San Francisco 49ers by stopping at the Santa Clara Great America station that is steps away from the stadium in Santa Clara.
The service will begin Sept. 29 with the game between the 49ers and the New England Patriots.
The goal of providing the service will be to ensure that visitors from the Central Valley and Tri-Valley have a convenient and car-free option to attend.
“Over the past 10 years, we have cultivated an award-winning fan experience that serves to provide safe and memorable experiences for all fans. Having multiple transportation options is a big part of that,” Francine Melendez Hughes, executive vice president and general manager of stadium operations, said in a statement Wednesday. “ACE is an important part of our game day experience and we are grateful to have them as a community partner.”
Anyone wanting to use the ACE train for the events will be required to have Special Event Train tickets.
Additionally, for fans who will attend games throughout the season, for a limited time ACE train will be offering its own season pass train ticket that will cover the cost of the seven home games for the price of six.
According to ACE train officials, their trains have cozy seats, free-Wi-Fi, restrooms, charging outlets and more.
“As a commuter train service, we value the importance and ease of connectivity for work, and are delighted to, once again, partner with Levi’s Stadium in an effort to provide a safe and enjoyable transportation option for leisure travel,” Nancy Young, SJRRC board chair, said in a statement. “We want fans to be able to cheer on their team, allowing them to focus entirely on enjoying the game-day experience.”
