A man and a woman were arrested after they allegedly sprayed an employee with bear spray in a Fairfield store before making off with a bandana over the weekend, according to police.
Police said around 11 a.m. Sunday, the pair entered a store in the 1300 block of West Texas Street. The woman tried to steal a bandana and was confronted by a store employee.
The man then sprayed the employee in the face with bear spray, injuring the employee and affecting several other people in the store. The two then fled the scene.
The pair apparently could not bear to stay away and returned to the store the next day. An employee recognized them and called police, leading to their arrest.
The bear spray was recovered, according to police.
