Mark Armstrong will likely be the new mayor of San Ramon.
Armstrong was leading Wednesday with 71.66% of the vote 16,4800 over Chirag Kathrani, who picked up 28.34% (1,725 votes)
Armstrong would replace Dave Hudson, the current mayor and longtime councilmember who is retiring
Armstrong is a former FEMA official and U.S. Army colonel who filled in for Hudson when the mayor had a stroke in 2023.
In San Ramon’s District 1 race, Robert Jweinat was still edging out Vasanth Shetty in a tight race, 50.81% to 49.19%. Both are vying for longtime councilmember Scott Perkins’ seat, after Perkins stepped down after five terms.
Though the Contra Costa County Election Office said 100% of precincts have been counted, the results are still unofficial.
District 3 City Councilmember Sridhar Verose is running unopposed this year.
